City of Escondido Storm Drain system to support municipal stormwater program compliance.
The goal of this effort was to initiate development of a Geographic Information System
(GIS)-based storm drain network that would support the City in determining pollutant
sources and pathways. This was accomplished by connecting underground storm drain
infrastructure (represented as points and lines), where feasible, in order to achieve
connectivity for pollutant transport analysis. Because these adjustments and other updates
to the storm drain network were based on an office analysis of GIS data sets, additional field
surveys are necessary in many areas to confirm or determine actual conditions. Integration
of the digitized and field-verified storm drain data will result in a comprehensive City-wide
storm drain network. |
